Directors

The Board of Directors of Mundo Minerals is a highly experienced group of professionals, all with significant experience in the resources sector and who provide a strong diversity in skills to guide the strategy and maintain the corporate governance of Mundo Minerals. Brief summaries of the Directors' profiles are set out below:

John Langford
Chief Executive Officer

Mundo Minerals will be managed on an executive level from Australia by John Langford. John has significant experience in the Australian resources sector including being involved with development of production assets, including negotiating the assets, financing the assets and being involved in providing strategic advice to the companies operating the assets in his capacity as a non executive director of listed resources companies and in his role as a partner of Deloitte providing corporate finance advice to companies. John led the corporate finance division of Deloitte in Western Australia for approximately 10 years. John has been a director of a number of resources companies including Tectonic Resources Limited and Defiance Mining NL. He is currently a director of Palace Securities Pty Ltd, the company that owns the Diggers and Dealers Mining Forum. 
 
Michael Schmulian
Managing Director South America

Michael Schmulian has been appointed an Executive Director of Mundo Minerals and is managing director of the South American operations of Mundo Minerals. He is a geologist, who prior to joining Mundo Minerals was responsible for brownfields exploration for AngloGold Ashanti Limited in South America . Michael was previously employed by WMC in Australia and later in Brazil as Country Manager where he was responsible for development of production assets in Brazil for WMC. Michael has extensive experience in both exploration and managing production assets and having resided and worked in South America for 16 years knows the mining industry in South America intimately.
 

Non Executive Directors

Brian Hurley
Mining Engineer
Brian is a Mining Engineer with more than 35 years in senior management and operation positions in the resources sector who has strong practical mining skills and will assist in ensuring that appropriate disciplines are employed in developing the Company's asset base. Brian has significant experience as a company director, and is currently Chairman of Oropa Limited, a minerals exploration company primarily focused on the exploration for gold and diamonds in Asia and Australia , and Jaguar Minerals Limited, a minerals exploration company with projects located in Tasmania , New South Wales and Western Australia , as well as Chairman of the Diggers and Dealers Mining Forum. He was previously a senior executive with WMC including being general manager of the nickel division and Western Australian mining operations for WMC as well as being Chairman of Gascoyne Gold Limited.

Barry Eldridge
Mining Engineer
Barry Eldridge is a Mining Engineer and Geologist with more than 30 years in senior management and operational positions in the resources sector. Barry was previously Managing Director of Portman Limited, and has held senior executive roles with Griffin Coal Limited, BMA Gold Limited, North Limited and Forrestania Gold Limited. He is currently a director of Cleveland Cliffs Inc, the largest producer of iron ore pellets in North America, Vulcan Resources Limited, a base metals and gold exploration company with a portfolio of projects located in Finland and Western Australia , and French Canadian engineering group, SNC-Lavalin's Australian division.

Rob McKenzie
Lawyer

Robert McKenzie is a lawyer specializing in corporate and commercial law. Robert was previously a senior partner with the National law firm Clayton Utz. He is recognized as a leader in his profession and has provided legal and strategic advice to many high profile corporate transactions in Australia. He has recently retired as a partner of Clayton Utz and is currently focused on pursuing corporate opportunities. Robert maintains a high profile within the legal, corporate and sporting communities in Western Australia. He was previously on the board of the West Coast Eagles, a football team playing in the Australian Football League.

 

Senior Management

It is intended to recruit senior resources executives to manage operational areas of the Company in South America. Initial appointments will include a Mining Engineer to take responsibility for mine planning and operational responsibility for the Engenho Gold Project in Brazil. A senior Geologist will be recruited to manage the exploration activities of the Company in South America.

The key executive team in Brazil is lead by the following experienced professionals:

José Antonio Kurcewicz, a mining engineer with in excess of 20 years experience in the resources sector in Brazil. Mr Kurecewicz is responsible for all mining activities including mine design, managing mining operations; mine safety and managing the approvals process to allow the Engenho Gold Project to be developed within the projected timeframe of 18 months.

Cesar Sanez, a metallurgist with more than 30 years experience working in South and North America in both treatment facility management and project management roles. He has a Masters Degree from the University of Montana. Mr Sanez will be responsible for developing an optimum treatment flow process and ultimately managing the treatment facility at the Engenho Gold Project. Mr Sanez is currently engaged on a contract basis and will join Mundo Minerals in 2007 when the Engenho Gold Project requires his full time commitment.

Jean-Marc Lopez is responsible for the Company’s exploration activities in South America. Mr Lopez is a geologist with in excess of 20 years experience in exploration and mine geology in Brazil, Central America and Canada. He is responsible for developing and managing the company exploration strategies to ensure that all assets are effectively assessed, explored and developed to properly assess the commercial potential.

Mundo has appointed a Project Manager for the Engenho Project, further enhancing its executive team in Brazil. Lafayette Caporali, a metallurgist with a Master of Science from Colorado School of Mines, USA, has now joined Mundo’s technical team. Prior to this, he was the Project Manager for Elkedra Diamond’s recently established treatment facility in Brazil. Mr Caporali will manage the construction of the CIP treatment facility at Engenho, scheduled to commence early in 2007.

Mr Sergio Zuniga, a mining engineer with extensive experience in Peru, has been appointed to manage the Companies operational activities in Peru. Mr Zuniga has had significant experience with a number of mining projects in Peru and, consistent with Mundo Minerals’ strategy of engaging senior mining personnel within the executive team, he has more than 30 years professional experience.

Mr Joe Mobilia has been appointed joint Company Secretary and Chief Financial Officer for Mundo Minerals Limited and is responsible for managing the financial affairs of the company including implementing appropriate financial controls and reporting for the companies resource operations as they progress to production status. He has had extensive experience with resource companies and brings a strong background in project costings and cost management.

The administrative activities of the Company in Brazil are being managed by Ronis Bragança, who has had 20 years experience in the gold and resources sector in Brazil. Mr Bragança has recently completed an MBA.

Paul Mason has been appointed joint Company Secretary to Mundo Minerals.  Paul is a chartered accountant who previously worked in the Audit Division of international accounting firm Ernst & Young.  Paul currently operates his own consultancy, assisting public companies with financial reporting, company secretarial and compliance matters.

Mundo has also retained the services of consultants to assist with the environmental and mining approvals process for development of the Engenho Project.

Mundo has dedicated geological personell in both Brazil and Peru.

All key personnel are long term residents of South America and have extensive practical experience in the region.
